"FAR FINTA DI ESSERE UMANI"

Dast propone una serie di lavori che, attraverso l'archetipo del robot, indagano l'isolamento dell'uomo contemporaneo.
Celando l'identità dei protagonisti delle sue opere dietro maschere dalle fattezze caratteristiche dei giocattoli in latta degli anni Cinquanta, l'artista conferisce loro la libertà di agire seguendo le proprie pulsioni, e intanto mette in atto una sottile analisi sulla complessità dei rapporti interpersonali. Ambiguità e finzione, dunque, ma in primo luogo la solitudine – intesa sia come condizione intrinseca dell'umanità sia come tecnica di autodifesa – sono gli aspetti esplorati dall'artista in questa sua ricerca pittorica dal segno quasi espressionista.
Dichiaratamente influenzato dall'avanguardia tedesca di Die Brücke, alla quale sono ascrivibili le cromie decise e il tratto prettamente grafico, Dast delinea un'intensa riflessione sui meccanismi che determinano la relazione con il prossimo e, in particolare, con la propria interiorità. 

DAST proposes a series of works that, through the archetype of the robot, investigate the isolation of the contemporary man.
Concealing the identity of the protagonists of his works behind masks with features typical of Fifties' tin toys, the artist gives them the freedom to act according to their instincts, and meanwhile carries out a subtle analysis on the complexity of interpersonal relationships. Ambiguity and fiction, then, but in the first place solitude – meant both as an intrinsic condition of humanity and as a self-defense technique – are the aspects explored by the artist in his almost expressionist painting research.
Overtly influenced by the German avant-garde Die Brücke, to which the bold colors and the purely graphic stroke are attributable, Dast outlines a poignant reflection on the mechanisms that determine the relationship with the others and, in particular, with one's own inner reality.
